Creating a Worldwide Benefits Website

Affirm came to our team with the need for a large-scale global benefits website to connect with their 2,552 employees across 5 countries.

Goals

Deliver a global benefits website that communicates accurate, clear, and reader-friendly content for employees across all countries. The site should be open access, so all information is available to employees, family members, recruiters, and prospective employees.

My Role

Art direct the project by steering the overall look & feel, communicating Affirm's needs to the dev team, reviewing and approving site concepts, providing feedback throughout the web build, and making all final design decisions.

Visualizing Affirm's Values

Our design set out to reflect Affirm's commitment to DEIB initiatives, highlight their dedication to innovation and wellness, and embody the unique positivity and approachability of their brand. In this spirit, we developed a delightfully color-coded and navigable 150+ page website complete with 24 custom icons & 36 hero banner images.

Design Outcomes

Inspired by Affirm's bright, minimalist palette and photo style, we color-coded the site's umbrella categories and customized 36 hero banner images to help users intuitively navigate the site. Each banner featured thoughtfully selected hand imagery, carefully reviewed to account for regional cultural norms. The hand-drawn accents convey action and a bit of playfulness.

To further enhance usability, I designed a complete suite of 24 custom icons, providing clear and engaging visual cues throughout the site.

A More Engaged Workforce

The benefits website continues to gain traction since its launch in the U.S. and with each additional country that goes live. In the past 12 months, the site has attracted nearly 12,000 unique users who have viewed the site pages 95,995 times.
